What does alkalizing your body means?
It’s interesting whenever someone disagrees with the importance of consuming a high level of base (alkaline) dominant foods they will refer to the fact that your stomach is acidic and that making your body alkaline is a myth. Off course your stomach secretes hydrochloric acid but only related to food intake and the stomach has a bicarbonate protection to prevent the hydrochloric acid from burning through your stomach tissues, you do not alkalize the whole body. The question is does slight pH differences in your interstitial cellular body fluids happen? And if they happen what are the complications, and what is the main cause of these deviations? The fact is that the pH of the human body, especially the blood lies in a tight range between 7.35-7.45, and any minor alterations from this range related to the blood can have severe implications.
And what about deviations related to the lymph? Has the lymph the same level of buffering than the blood? The lymph should have the same safe zone pH as the blood? The reality is that the sewage system (lymphatic system) and septic tanks (lymph nodes) cannot keep up with the pollution mankind faces through the foods they consume on a daily basis in today’s world. I do agree that consuming base isolated minerals or alkaline water, and other alkalizing supplements when they are not whole food based, is not the solution.
If you do not fix your diet the acid waste bucket will never empty itself properly. Isolated nutrients do not have the buffering of whole raw fruit or vegetable. To alkaline water can also cause imbalances, especially when it is absorbed by the blood, considering the blood has to rebalance a too alkaline pH above 7.45 pH as much as it has to rebalance an alkaline pH below 7.35. We do not want to mess with the blood chemistry too much on both sides.
Although the pH of blood ranges from 7.35-7.45, the pH of other body fluids is different. pH indicates the level of H+ ions, where low pH indicates too many H+ ions and high pH indicates too many OH- ions. If the pH levels drop below 6.9, it can lead to coma. However, different body fluids have different pH values. The pH of saliva ranges from 6.5 to 7.5. After swallowing, the food reaches the stomach where the upper and lower parts of the stomach have different pH values. The upper part has a pH of 4−6.5, while the lower part is highly acidic with a pH of 1.5−4.0. It then enters the intestine which is slightly alkaline, with a pH of 7−8.5. Maintaining the pH values of different regions is critical for their function. (1)
So the real question is with all these different pH values surrounding different cells, what is the interstitial cellular fluid pH surrounding a cell and the intracellular fluid pH of a cell? ? It is not because your stomach is acidic that your stomach cells are bathing in the stomach acid, they don’t! If they would, the stomach acid will start digesting your stomach cells instantly. They are protected by an alkaline interstitial alkaline dominant cellular fluid, where the blood (pH 7.4) and the lymph (pH 7.4) meets and surrounds and influences every cell. Any increase or decrease in blood pH can lead to several disorders, acidosis being much more common than alkalosis, any deviation from the ideal extracellular and intracellular fluid pH will affect the health and functioning of a cell.
What is the ideal saliva pH?
Let’s ask ourselves: ” What is the ideal saliva pH?” Is 6.5 sufficient? Or should it be ideally base dominant 7; 7.25 and up? An interesting study shows that saliva ph maintained in neutral pH and not too alkaline is the ideal pH. ( Salivary pH: A diagnostic biomarker (2)). Interesting remark in that study is that A saliva pH below 7.0 usually indicates acidemia (abnormal acidity of the blood).

Plaque bacteria take calcium compounds in the environment and use the minerals to protect them from the high pH. Second, the pH must elevate above 7.6 to grow dental plaque crystals that cause periodontal disease.
Another example. Our skin has an acid pH 5.5 to protect us from outside pathogens. But our skin cells are not bathed in an intercellular as well as an intracellular fluid of 5.5 pH. They bath in an alkaline dominant fluid of lymph and blood. It is not the skin cells and tissue itself that is acid, but the thin, protective layer on its surface, referred to as the acid mantle that protects skin against external influences like bacteria, allergens, and pollution, while maintaining moisture. So why does the skin lose it’s moisture and becomes dry? Because of interstitial cellular acidosis. Acids cause burning, rashes, inflammation, redness, broken capillaries, dry skin, to oily skin (cholesterol neutralizing acid inflammation), etc….

When one’s lymphatic sewage system can no longer filter acids or the bacterial action within the lymph nodes fails to neutralize acids, they agglomeration caused by systemic acidosis will continue, lymph nodes will swell and get hard.
Connective tissue will become stiff, inflamed and painful. As your body fails to excrete the acid waste through one’s lungs, skin, digestive tract but most importantly through the kidneys. The acid lymphatic waste will back up in the kidney cells and tissues and break down kidney tissue causing degeneration and function of the kidneys at a rapid rate.
Acids do create inflammation and cellular decay. No doubt about that! It is important to keep your interstitial cellular fluids, extracellular fluids and intracellular fluids base dominant if that fails, and systemic acidosis increases, your cells will degenerate, malfunction, atrophy and die. It’s on these levels base dominance need to be maintained to keep your cells and cell functions healthy. It is not the cells of organs itself but the different secretions that function at their optimal level of pH. For example, the enzyme pepsin requires low pH to act and break down food, while the enzymes in intestine require high pH or alkaline environment to function.
Consuming healthy base dominant foods for Optimal Detoxification and regeneration is not a myth!
The ‘scientists’ who claim like quake watch and even Wikipedia that detox is a hoax and consuming base dominant foods is a myth is not rational and lacks common sense. They say the myth that we need to “alkalize” is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of human physiology. Really? And they ask “Which body compartment do you think you should alkalize?” Well, my answer has been clear. Keep the interstitial cellular fluids, the extra and intracellular fluids base dominant there where the blood and lymph meet the cells. To keep these fluids within their safe alkaline zone, you need to consume the proper clean fuel coming from electrolyte nutritional base dominant water-rich food chemistry.
If any increase or decrease in blood pH can lead to several disorders, how much more can these fluids affect the health of every cell and its function as they do not seem to have the high level of buffering the blood has? I do not claim to have all the answers, but the fuel you consume is surely going to affect the health and functioning of your cells. The question is what is the most ideal fuel according to our physiology?
While I agree that the body will do everything in its power to keep the blood pH within it’s safe soon, nevertheless when your blood just slightly deviates from its ideal pH 7.35 – 7.45 it can be problematic. To make us believe that we can eat what we want and that the body just keeps everything within a safe homeostatic balance is a blatant lie, don’t fall for it.
Off course the consequences do not happen overnight as indeed the body will try everything (buffer) to keep you in a safe zone of homeostasis. But at what costs? And degeneration will happen eventually and accelerate. Everything has its limits to maintain balance. Every machine that is not properly cared for, cleaned and uses the proper fuels, will eventually break down. In clinical experience, I have found that a saliva pH of 5 has shown to be a reflection of certain cancer in the body confirming the above statement that saliva pH below 7.0 usually indicates acidemia (abnormal acidity of the blood.
To say that you don’t have to worry about what foods you consume is very unscientific and irrational. Off course, your blood will keep itself very stable, but as I mentioned before at what cost? Calcium depletion? Water retention? High cholesterol? Systemic acidosis? Malfunctioning and degeneration of cells? Etc…
Keep things simple, a simple scientific rational approach
According to wiki rational, Wikipedia, Quakwatch and many other sites that claim a rational scientific approach you can just consume any fuel you want and your car will still function efficiently. No need to go and clean the filters and make sure you are consuming the right fuel. Just eat what you want and drink some water to clear it….? That sounds very unscientific and un-rational to me. If the body would really detox itself optimally at all times then why are there diseases? Why do people get still sick? What would we need hospitals and doctors for? Why do we not live much longer with vibrant health into old age?

So let me ask you again: “Healthy diets don’t do anything that your body can’t naturally do on its own?” It is crystal clear that you can optimize your body’s natural detoxification systems by eating more healthy foods, any child can understand that. And considering acid lymphatic congestion interstitially around the cells and in the connective tissues of your muscles, organs, glands, brain and nerve cells will cause indeed serious complications because of the corrosive nature of acids.
Decreasing the efficiency of the filtration and neutralization of acids will weaken the cells and the functional capacity of your cells, connective tissues, organs, and glands, brain and nerve cells through consistent systemic acidosis. It’s a pathway that will not lead to an inflammation pain-free vibrant health. To believe the opposite is irrational and completely unscientific.
The environment you create will determine the outcome
Rivers and streams are alive, like our bodies they tend toward homeostasis, they want to maintain a safe zone of homeostasis, always tend towards balance. They have the instinct to heal themselves. The more naturally pure they can maintain themselves the more magical natural beauty and vibrant health it can express in connection with other life forms.
Can rivers become dirty? Can fish die when the river changes to a different pH and oxygen level? Do fish and frogs mutate, what about acid rain? To deny all these facts makes you a very irrational unscientific ‘ Scientist’. See where our world is heading because of the misplaced idea that nature will always rebalance itself…. really it doesn’t seem like it does! That thinking is very much influenced by ‘superior moral’ know it all kind of religious thinking, not so much by caring for this world and mankind as a whole.

Isn’t that amazing that we can awaken the body’s inherent self-healing self-maintaining energy, can we awaken the power of cellular regeneration and restoration of the functioning of cells? But there is a condition, we must stop polluting the river. In ayurvedic traditional medicine, the fluid that should also flow like a river is the lymph and not only the blood.
Cancer cells are dying cells
Every cell bathes and is protected by a dominant alkaline fluid of blood and lymph. Interstitially, extra and intracellular. Blood heals and lymph should take away the metabolic sewage while still maintaining a flow like a river. If the river fails to keep itself clean if the lymph becomes to lipid 9cholesterol) dense as it tries to neutralize inflammation and pain caused by acid waste, the cells will carry the consequences. Digestion, absorption, circulation, utilization, and elimination will be impaired, how will the blood deliver its nutrients efficiently and how will the lymph carry away the waste efficiently.
What is a cancer cell? Its a cell eroded by corrosive acid chemistry. Causing the cell to degenerate, atrophy and die. A cancer cell is a dying cell, it is not some strange transformation from a human cell into some inhuman cell with superpowers to kill healthy cells. A liver cell that has become cancerous has become cancerous because of the acid environment that caused it to degenerate, atrophy and finally die.
A cancer cell can not kill a healthy cell, it is the acid environment the cell baths in constantly that will determine its level of health and functioning and if it will finally degenerate, atrophy and die or not die. Benign tumors do not spread because the body protects healthy cells by encapsulating the tumor cells that are in the process of decay caused by systemic acidosis, they are cells placed in quarantine together with their interstitial cellular acid environment to protect healthy cells.
Why is their a risk of tumor cell seeding through biopsy and aspiration cytology? I doubt if seeding is the correct word, as you need the right environment to plant a seed and make it grow. And how can a cancer liver cell become a lung cancer cell? Cancer cells can transport through the blood but eventually its the lymph and lymph nodes that deal with dying cells. Considering the fact that, every tumor cell, is bathed in interstitial fluid, which drains into the lymphatic system and has an individualized arterial blood supply and venous drainage like any other normal cell in our body.
Inserting a needle or a knife into a tumor, there is a jeopardy of releasing the interstitial acid cellular fluid into the surrounding healthy tissue fluid. And if your body is struggling with systemic acidosis at one place you can be sure that the systemic acidosis is from head to toe. Depending on how good the lymphatic waste system can neutralize and eliminate acid waste through the septic tanks (lymph nodes) and finally filter all this acid waste through the kidneys will determine the growth of other tumor or cancer cells. All cells, connective tissues, organs, and glands as well, bone, brain and nerve cells and tissues can become cancerous, but only if they are surrounded by the high level of systemic acidosis that caused the tumor and cancer to proliferate in the first place.
